Abstract

The lack of stimulation of creativity in the Soft-skill course given and learning process mostly use conventional method which little to no collaboration skill involved may occur the uncertainty of situations which can cause students’ lack of skills in solving problems. To improve creative thinking and collaborative skills in students, the right approach is needed from lecturers Problem Base Learning (PBL) model in learning might be a good choice since it is not only having the potential to help students make wise decisions, but also as a vehicle for developing students’ creative thinking and collaboration abilities, E-module provision is also required since it can provide quality teaching materials, which can be accessed online by students which contain a learning context that can be applied to shape students’ character and leadership skills that is concept of Sad Warnaning Rajaniti (SWR). Hence, this study would like to investigate soft-skill students’ outcomes in creative thinking and collaboration skill using both PBL or Conventional methods and chosen E-modul or conventional media, and standalone model or media. This research is a quasi-experimental study where direct observations are made on two independent variables and two dependent variables using a pretest-posttest non-Equivalent control group design. This design is used because it is not possible to control or manipulate all relevant variables. There are differences in creative thinking abilities and collaboration abilities between those studying with problem-based learning and direct instruction significantly, and those studying provided by e-modules based on Sad Warnaning Rajaniti and conventional learning media (p 0.000<0.05). Furthermore, there is an interactive influence between both the learning model (problem-based learning vs. direct instruction) and e-module (based on Sad Warnaning Rajaniti versus conventional) on creative thinking abilities (p = 0.007<0.05) or ability to collaborate with significance value of creative thinking ability at 0.040 smaller than 0.05. Overall, the use of the Problem-Based Learning model and the E-Module learning media based on Sad Warnaning Rajaniti are effective in improving students’ creative thinking and collaboration skills. It is hoped that this learning method and media can be maximized by teachers during the teaching and learning process..
